In situations where you prefer individualized attention, I offer private, hands-on lessons called Functional Integration®.

Functional Integration is the other form of expressing the Feldenkrais Method. Just as I guide you through movement sequences verbally in Awareness Through Movement, I also guide you through movement with gentle, non-invasive, instructive touch in Functional Integration.

Functional Integration is a hands-on form of tactile, kinesthetic communication. I communicate with you regarding how you organize your body and I direct you, through gentle touching and movement, how to move in more expanded functional, motor patterns.

Functional Integration is usually performed lying on a table designed specifically for the work. It can also be done in sitting or standing positions. At times, various props are used in an effort to support your body configuration or to facilitate certain movements.

Many of my students are enrolled in both the group classes called Awareness Through Movement and Functional Integration concurrently. This is the ideal, for both techniques serve to integrate the learning of the other.
